Golda Meir’s brilliant words ring so true today
This is another amazing interview with Golda Meir, where she says in crystal clear English the real history
of Israel that leftists are trying to ignore. Golda Meir was the fourth Prime Minister of Israel, a
democratically elected female leader, from the years 1969 to 1974. She was born in Kiev in 1898, and
emigrated with her family to the United States in 1906, after her father worked very hard and saved
enough money to bring them over. She graduate teacher’s college and worked as a teacher. Then in
1921, she moved with her husband to Israel (what was called ‘Palestine after WWI) and worked on a
kibbutz. This was no walk in the park, and she didn’t get off easy. Golda’s kibbutz duties included
picking almonds, planting trees, running the kitchen, and working in the chicken coop. Golda became
Prime Minister in 1969 after Levi Eshkol’s sudden death, as the party elected Golda as the successor.
