Longtime Democrat Joe Lieberman supports Trump’s plan on Iran

Former Senator and Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joseph Lieberman praised President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would not recertify Iranian compliance with the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known around the world as the Iran nuclear deal. Israel has long warned the world of the dangers of a nuclear Iran and welcomes the efforts to remove nuclear capabilities to a country known for sponsoring terrorism.

The US president is required by law to report to Congress every 90 days on Iran’s compliance – or lack thereof – with the terms of the aggreament. Failure to certify Iranian compliance would compel Congress to either reimpose some US sanctions on Iran, or force Congress to pass other legislation altering those sanctions.
